School Expectations

Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

Discovery Elementary School implements a school-wide Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports plan (PBIS). The PBIS system uses student expectations and preventative disciplines to guide students toward positive behaviors. Discovery students focus the following three main expectations: 1) Respect Yourself 2) Respect Others 3) Respect the Environment

Discovery Expectations

As a part of the PBIS plan, Discovery has set high and clear expectations for students throughout the campus. Students are familiar with these expectations as they are posted around the campus and communicated within their classrooms. In addition, Discovery staff uses the common expectation language with students (respect yourself, respect others, and respect the environment) to remind students of the appropriate behaviors. Students are conversed on the Discovery Elementary School Behavior Expectations Matrix (linked below).
