Remote Learning | Jan 11 - 22
SMUSD Elementary Schools will be in a Remote Learning model when returning from Winter Break on January 11. All students will engage in Remote Learning from January 11 - 22. The SMUSD School Board will continue to meet to review the current COVID-19 cases and discuss returning to in-person instruction.
We will return to the Remote Learning schedules from the beginning of the school year. School starts at 8:30 am. All students should be logged into their google classroom at 8:30 am for their live meeting with their teacher and classmates. As a reminder, the elementary bell schedule is as follows:
Preschool (M, T, TH, F)
8:25 am - 11:25 am
TK (Monday)
8:30 am - 10:10 am
TK (T, W, TH, F)
8:30 am - 11:30 am
Grades K - 5 (Monday)
8:30 am - 10:10 am
Grades K - 5 (T, W, TH, F)
8:30 am -2:45 pm
All Kindergarten through fifth grade students will receive a 15 minute break and a 45 minute lunch. The time for the break will vary by grade. Lunches at Discovery for all students are all scheduled from 11:30 - 12:15 to support families with multiple students and provide time to pick up SMUSD lunches if necessary. Teachers will provide daily instructional schedules specific to their grade level and classes, including times for live instruction.
LEVS students and classes will remain on their current schedules. LEVS classes also start at 8:30 am.
